2023 – 2024 SCHOOL YEAR
OUR HERO IN BLUE
A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR HERO IN BLUE OFFICER MICHAEL STAINGER!
We had a surprise visit from Fort Laramie’s Chief of Police, Officer Michael Staiger. The kids loved getting to know Officer Michael and were delighted with the stuffed raccoons he personally brought for them.
Children are so observant and can form negative impressions about law enforcement officers from something as simple as a parent expressing concern they may be caught speeding when they see a police cruiser along the side of the road.
It is caring, concerned and proactive individuals like Officer Michael that give the children positive experiences to associate with our men and women in blue. This in turn enables the child to feel safe approaching an officer if they are lost or in distress.
Officer Michael has always taken time for Planting Roots preschoolers since the school’s conception, and we are so very grateful for his involvement. It really makes a difference.

Planting Roots Preschool’s innovative, community oriented program is dedicated to preparing children for success. Not only are children well prepared scholastically and socially to enter kindergarten, they have a myriad of positive experiences that broaden their horizons and promote creativity in all areas of their lives.

MEETING BABY GOATS
Brenda brought in her eight week old goats to teach the preschoolers all about the babies. Thank you so much Brenda. The kiddos loved this special experience!

WHERE OUR FOOD COMES FROM
Planting Roots preschoolers started lettuce, carrots, spinach, kale, radishes and beets in the classroom. They are learning about what can be grown and eaten in the winter without pollination! Today the preschoolers were able to pick their produce and make a delicious salad!
