2023 – 2024 SCHOOL YEAR

OUR HERO IN BLUE

Officer Michael speaks to Planting Roots Preschoolers

A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR HERO IN BLUE OFFICER MICHAEL STAINGER!

We had a surprise visit from Fort Laramie’s Chief of Police, Officer Michael Staiger. The kids loved getting to know Officer Michael and were delighted with the stuffed raccoons he personally brought for them.

Children are so observant and can form negative impressions about law enforcement officers from something as simple as a parent expressing concern they may be caught speeding when they see a police cruiser along the side of the road.

It is caring, concerned and proactive individuals like Officer Michael that give the children positive experiences to associate with our men and women in blue. This in turn enables the child to feel safe approaching an officer if they are lost or in distress.

Officer Michael has always taken time for Planting Roots preschoolers since the school’s conception, and we are so very grateful for his involvement. It really makes a difference.
